Total Performance Sports sent a strong team of five lifters to the New England Revolution powerlifting meet in Johnston, R.I. on March 27th. The meet was held at Ocean State Gym, an old-style hardcore gym with lots of character. Murph and Kevin were there to coach, and many more TPS buddies showed up to help or to cheer for the team.

Here are the impressive results:

Steve DiLello ("Mr. Awesome"): First prize, 220-lb Open class, Pro Division. Best lifts were 550 lb squat, 405 lb bench, and 550 lb deadlift, for a total of 1505. This was only Steve's second meet, maybe a taste of awesome things to come?

"Mighty" Micah Miller lifted in the Iron Man (Deadlift and Bench only) Division of the meet, in the Raw (unequipped) Pro 242-pound category. He placed first with a 370 pound bench and 550 pound deadlift, a total of 920 for the two lifts.

Carlos Moran lifted in the Junior Amateur division, 198 pound class. His 550 lb squat, 425 pound bench, and 585 pound deadlift, and 1560 total won him not just first prize in his class but also the Best Lifter award for the Amateur division.

Matt "Barn Yard" Rhodes was our representative in the Open Pro Division's 308-lb class. Matt squatted 815 pounds, benched 550, and deadlifted 700 pounds, and he placed first in his class with his total of 2065.

Jane "World Record" Stabile lifted in the Women's Amateur 55-59 year old 148-lb class, and won first place with her 345 pound squat, 190-pound bench (which was a personal record), 225 pound deadlift and 760 pound total. The squat, bench press, and total were IPA world records.

Congratulations to all the lifters, and thanks to all the athletic supporters who came down!
